07 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: That submarine must be out of gas.
10 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Sorry everyone, something unexpectedly came up and I'll need to go away for the weekend. Since this game requires more than just checking in to enter orders, I'd appreciate a pause.
10 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Yes sire
10 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: This works out for me, too. My father-in-law just had surgery down at Duke and we're supposed to be down visiting over the weekend.
11 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Sounds good. I hope all works out well for you and yours.
11 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: If you can, please vote unpause so that those requesting the pause can control when we restart.
11 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Makes sense, will do. btw, wouldn't it be awesome if the webDip server could be configured to send an SMS/e-mail when certain events happen? Like if you could opt-in for updates when a phase changes, you get a message, or a game is paused/unpaused, etc. Sort of like a push notification. That might work well for games with longer phases, where the casual player is more likely to miss a phase.
13 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Back from Durham. Father-in-law had 90% of his esophagus removed (I'll spare you the other gory details) but is in great spirits and was walking by the end of the day. Hopefully the cancer won't return.
13 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1902: Can we drop pretenses now?
13 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1902: Sure. Fuck the King.Long live brainbomb.
13 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1902: Well! That complicates matters...
15 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1902: Hey knights! Can you message me to let me know you're a knight? I'm having trouble keeping track.
15 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1902: (makes sign of the cross) Goodbye you crooked Monarch.
15 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Deus Vult! Death to the King!
15 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: A Deo rex, a rege lex!
18 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Why the cancel vote bb?
20 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: I do believe the random draw royally screwed the rebels. We didn't win WW1 the first time for a reason.
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: I think if countries are assigned, the king should be Austria. That would make for a dynamic game.
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: That makes more sense. Germany could also be good spot for the king role.
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: as it is, the rebels really don't have a chance...
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: Yeah I think any of the central powers (Austria, Germany, Italy) wouldve made for a more exciting game
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: be it resolved that *next time* the roles will be assigned at random, immediately AFTER the game begins and countries have been assigned.
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: looks like we'll have to have a rematch....
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: the interesting thing now, is ... Who is the traitor?
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: Does it matter?
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: It's probably Turkey given how screwy everything else has been to this point. Murphy's Law and all.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: It's either Turkey or Italy. If it's R/E/F as king+knights, the rest of the players got royally screwed with the role draw.

Haha, get it? ROYALLY screwed. OK. yeah.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: -_-
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: It's reigning puns!
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: You should've throne that pun out.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: We couldn't throw it out, that pun was so bad it was criminal and we needed to dust it for prince.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: All: asking for a pause for a few days. My father-in-law is coming home from surgery tomorrow and I have been tapped to assist in the process. I should be able to restart around Saturday.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: I'm OK with that
24 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Hey italy and france, we should probably pause this now.
25 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: sorry I just put it in.
25 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: now... unpause votes so germany can control the unpause time?
25 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Indeed!
25 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Thanks, fellas. The old man is well and we're not seeing any complications. Just want to keep the pause up until he's clear of 72-hours out of the hospital. Apparently risk of feeding tube area infection drops drastically after that time.
25 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Happy Easter everyone, except you England, I hope the bunny shits in your slippers.
26 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: I will hit unpause in the morning, just too be sure we're in the clear. Thank you all for your patience.
28 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Yoyo?
28 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: So, uh, you guys, uh, come here often?
28 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: sorry I needed an extra day
28 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Excellent. Now to get down to the real business of getting killed off.
01 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1904: "All dead, all dead, all the dreams we had...and I wonder why I still live on"
08 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: Kill The King!!!
26 Apr 16 UTC I've put my draw vote up. I think by now it's clear nobody is going to be able to kill the King or solo. We have an effective stalemate against Turkey the Traitor and Austria the Rebel. Neither can fulfill their victory conditions.

If the rest of the board disagrees, I'm happy to play it out. We will win or stalemate, but I think either way the initial intrigue is gone. A draw seems less tedious.
26 Apr 16 UTC Agreed.
27 Apr 16 UTC Agreed. Well played, team knights. I think this was a fun idea for a format, but might need to be tweaked to for balance. If you could change the format to improve the game, what would you suggest?
