| If it hadn't been Ivan in England, I would have never attacked the Russian like I did. I was trying to help Ivan stay alive for as long as I could and to make the game interesting for him. But Ivan, I'm going to post some links to some videos in a PM that should teach you some of the basics of Diplomacy tactics. | |

| WOW ... what a game. I thought I was straight up toast! But, I made the offer to France to allow him to pass through me to get position on Italy. And he took me up on it. But then decided to double back instead of pressing home his advantage. Hazcam was in Venice! And could have been in Tyrolia with Italy way out of position. But he ended the game with Italy in the MAO ... when you are offered help like that across the stalemate line and you decide to take it, take it all the way my friend! You could have swallowed me up later, since you had the seas and were on both sides of me ... Anyway, enough about the blown solo for Hazcam. About the game. Ivan appealed to my soft, carebear heart - so I didn't pile on him and instead turned on Russia ...who then talked France into (wisely) attacking me. I was able to work with England long enough to get him into position to totally screw France's game, but there's only so much we could do when he failed to get a build in '01 or cover LVP in '02. KVN, you played a helluva game. You won the south with tactics (and some bad moves by Austria) and you got great position in the north through Diplomacy. You can't win on two fronts with tactics, and the name of the game isn't Tactics... so nicely done. I can't wait to play with you again. You got a little luck when I forgot to to order any kind of an attack on Sweden in '03. You would have had a disband coming ... but misorders are part of the game. BGunz, when Austria sets himself up for disaster, you don't bounce him in Greece in '01. You take Rumania or force Russia to support it from Galicia. Sampwn, when you're Austria, never go to Adriatic in Spring '01. EOG complete. |
