Modern Diplomacy II, Anonymous players, Draw-Size Scoring
Game drawn
10 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: Except that he'll retreat there to Lisboa.
10 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: oh :(
I missed that (I must admit I don't give this endgame my full attention)
'heavy breathing' I would have loved to get new potuguese sailors. And now I will die in Seville.
10 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: There are worse places to die. Orange trees lining the streets...
10 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: There is no space named Lisbon. Are you referring to Portugal?

And for the record, there was no "promise of survival", Britain. Russia and I have reconciled our differences. I see retreating from the Fatherland and moving south and west as optimal tactics. I say tactics, because it is not a long-term solution.
10 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: of course it's not a long therm solution, Russia will solo, HaHa! And of course there is a Space named lisboa, that's the capital of Portugal and a charming city in which I will build a new fleet.
Maybe I will survive under the blossom of the orange trees of Seville after all, Egypte.
10 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: Congrats! Though you may want to build an army, in case Spain disbands his A Madrid. Alternately, you can convoy an army of mine in there. Your choice.
10 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: On my board it just says Portugal.
13 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2002: thanks to the German tactic, and Egypte friendship, Russia wins the whole pot this year!
Well done Russia, this situation speaks plenty about your diplomatic talents!
16 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2003: why didn't you finish the game Russia? There is no shared pot in this variant, it's what was called Winner take all...
17 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 2004: SMH
20 Feb 16 UTC Draw?
20 Feb 16 UTC Yup, my vote is in.
20 Feb 16 UTC That's a low blow, Russia. I know you have every right to do that, but leading us on all game for the draw and then taking the win...that's stupid, and unsportsmanlike. Even for Diplomacy.
20 Feb 16 UTC :-)
20 Feb 16 UTC That would be that for sure:-)
20 Feb 16 UTC Just wanted to keep the heat by the very end of the game, thats all. Sorry if the heat went up too much. In the same time I must say I have enjoyed the game very very much and you two Egypt, Germany were really good allies and great gaming partners.
20 Feb 16 UTC I would be very happy to retest potential alliances in the future
20 Feb 16 UTC Yes, it was an exciting game for sure...would have been better if Italy and Turkey didn't abandon....
20 Feb 16 UTC Of course. I understand, Russia. Thanks for being a good sport about it. Sure, I'd like to play with you two again, but now, I'm focusing on one game at a time due to time constraints.

Good game. Looking forward to future ones.
20 Feb 16 UTC hahagahahahagagagag! Haha,
what a great partner Russia is... You are so good Russia! The guys still swear by your name after you take the whole pot, isn't it lovely?
Germany: I'm impressed by your tactic :-D
Oh no wait: you draw in the spring letting them their share if the pot, wow that's magnanimus!
