Autumn, 1901: A strange plague struck the ravens of England. Having no way to communicate, the king closed his borders and prayed to the gods both old and new that the vicious avian affliction would come to a swift end. Dark feathers dusted the streets like sooty leaves in the heart of Autumn, and the poor citizens of England wondered how diplomacy would ever resume without their winged messengers. However, on the seventh day of this strange affliction, the king was awoken in the dead of night by a blood chilling caw from a brilliant white raven glowing on the sill of his royal quarters. Come morning, the air was filled the shrill cries of innumerable ravens, seemingly sprung from the dark clouds of the British isles themselves. Overjoyed at the return of their avian emmisaries, England quickly repoens their borders and resumes diplomatic communication.
Autumn, 1901: The nation of Austria would like to welcome England's return to the diplomatic realm with thunderous applause. Kegs of beer are being shared in our nation and songs are being sung about the brilliant white raven who carried Heaven's blessing through the night to your domain.
