| Spring, 2009: [Libya]:No sure why the push to draw is on the table. There's plenty of game left, it seems to me, but this is my first World Diplomacy IX game. Am I missing something? | |
| Spring, 2009: [Western-Canada]:Well, the push for the draw, at least as I see it and as it was discussed with me is as follows. After Near East is gone we have 5 left. India, Quebec and Kenya are pretty big. While myself and Libya are not so big. In the event that one of the larger powers was able to dominate a smaller power and then removed their "draw" vote, the game could result in a Solo. Seeing that it is winner take all, I would much rather make double what I put into it, than risk one of the other 4 powers messing up orders or going MIA and giving the game to another. Now if I was in a position to increase the likelihood of me being the winner, then my outlook would be different. As the climate sits now, none of us are a shoe-in for the win. Best time to draw in my opinion. |

I just did, which required me for some reason to disband my fleet ejected from the NE Atlantic rather than retreat to Britain, but it hardly matters now. So let's all save and hit ready. | |
