27 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: Oh, right. Shall we meet in Berlin over coffee?
27 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: How about Marseilles? I heard it's lovely in Spring, you should come on over!
27 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: Nah. The port smells like fish.
27 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: London, maybe?
27 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: Too cloudy. I'd prefer the tulip fields of Holland, or perhaps we could sit down and see if we can cheer Hamlet up?
27 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: Ha! There's an image. France and Germany, coming to the castle hand in hand to sit down and provide therapy for a depressed Dane.
27 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: Paris, perhaps?

It's nothing personal, but my countrymen aren't as fond of frogs as I am.
28 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: ... Amusing turn again.
28 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: Very. I guess we're meeting in London....
28 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1908: We met in Marseilles and, in a sense, Paris already ;-)
29 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1908: Oh well, I knew it was going to end at some point. It was a poor game for me, but only partially my fault. That's how it goes in this game, however. At least I still have the points from Game 1!
29 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1908: I know I made you go but it's still sad to see you go!
You may have been the biggest voice of reason around here :-)
03 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: I've held out long enough. Your home centers are vulnerable and your forces are about to be split. No chance for a solo....time to draw.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: No point in doing this secretly. Do I need to do a suicide hold to stop the solo? Or can the rest of you hold out if Iberia collapses in 1910?
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Because if I don't make a run for Tunis now, I'm stuck, cannot get to safe haven. I'll do it if there's a chance at the solo. But it looks to me like you've got this.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Help is on the way!
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: It's too late for Iberia. Best case - I hold Spain, Portugal and Belgium this fall, but disband a unit. Then I can't hold, he takes Iberia in fall 1910.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: You shouldn't ask them, especially since it looks like a stalling tactic so far to me. Do your own math. I will obviously keep saying that I think you should secure yourself a place in the draw by finding a safe haven (which I think is true. Aren't you supposed to get the best possible result for yourself? You don't gain anything from a sacrifice) and I'm sure they will all think it's best (for them) if you stand your ground, 'just in case' if nothing else. Obviously, they happen to profit from a smaller draw, so that's convenient.

In short, you should make the choice since the rest of the board will have an agenda.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Whoops! Holland? How did I end up here? and look, the shipyars of Kielbecon and...oh! I can see my friends in the distance!...

You have no solo. Time to draw.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Let's first figure out whether they are your friends, shall we?
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Oh, we're his friends. Don't worry yourself on that account, Germany. France has been a very good soldier and there is no reason to cut him out now.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: In other news, Turkey took down his Draw vote.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: You made them so. The enemy of the solo is my friend.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: I'm thinking we can divvy up the spoils a little more evenly before a draw takes place. There is no reason for Germany to end up with so many SC. When Germany is at ten or so SC, I'll restore my Draw vote.

I'm thinking I'd like to see France restored to his home.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Right. In that case I'd like to point out a new solo threat has emerged: Turkey.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Ah, the war of words -- my favorite part of the game.

I'm a much duller player than you Steephie. I win my share of games, but I know when solos are possible and when they are not. This board reacts quickly and decisively to prevent such swash-buckling. You may encounter that soon in another game.

To tell you the truth, I will be quite content with an end SC count of nine or ten. I didn't expect that early on. I'm sure Italy, France and Austria would like to add to their totals. You have a gaudy 14 SC at present. Perhaps you would like to share some of those and we can get on to an honourable draw. Keep ten or eleven. I'm sure no one would deny you the high count. You've played well, after all.
04 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1909: Really? Come on. Just draw. We stopped the solo - I count it a moral victory to have survived after taking over a bad position and getting stabbed. Let's move on.....
05 May 15 UTC Spring, 1910: I think about casting a draw vote when I see one cast by Germany.
05 May 15 UTC Spring, 1910: This isn't a biggest dick competition. OK, true, I take that back. This is DEFINITELY a biggest dick competition. Meantime, does it hurt to cast the draw vote? Germany is just trying to kill me, I'm counting on everyone else to give me a part in the draw. I think I've earned it, if Germany doesn't get best stab, I think I've earned best solo stop.
05 May 15 UTC Spring, 1910: Austria is opposed to drawing before the game has been properly played out as well, you know. It's not just me.
05 May 15 UTC Spring, 1910: *sigh*.
08 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1910: Oh damn that's the first time in this game I feel like I really screwed up :-)
09 May 15 UTC Spring, 1911: (peterwiggin): A player requested a pause for approximately 24 hours. Enjoy your break.
11 May 15 UTC Spring, 1911: (peterwiggin): I've unpaused both games.
12 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1911: Lol really bad timing for a misorder..
12 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1911: You're losing ground, not gaining it. Isn't it time to draw this sucker?
16 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1912: I'm feeling the hate.
21 May 15 UTC Spring, 1913: The wandering Frenchman strikes again!
22 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1913: Lol
22 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1913: There's no place like home...there's no place like home....there's no place like home....
22 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1913: Too funny
25 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: (goldfinger0303): Game 4 is up, just so everyone knows
26 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: Can we please just draw this thing? Game 4 is up and while I can play chase the frenchman forever it's getting tiresome.
26 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: Did anyone else get a link to game 4 or a password?
26 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: I got the link and password - but I go to it, and there's no option to join it?
26 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: Oh, never mind for some reason it thinks I'm not logged on
26 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: Just FYI: I left Game 4 for now, because I need a couple games to finish up before I start another one. I'll join before the 7 day deadline.
28 May 15 UTC Well played.
28 May 15 UTC Thank you, if that was for me :-) Fun game, considering I came in late just in time to get played and stabbed :-)
29 May 15 UTC Fun indeed. I wonder if/how I could have won..
