Spring, 1905: Farewell Austria! In our hearts we will always remember your chaotically direction-less war of aggression against seemingly the entire of Europe!
Spring, 1905: Sure.. I will remember your backstabbing... ignorance-exploiting... manipulating... shameful strategy....but wishing you good luck nonetheless...
Spring, 1906: "For a long time Britain has been reluctant to concede that the British Empire was violent. It is sometimes taken for granted that violence was an integral element of nineteenth-century European imperialism is, but British imperialism has often been seen as exceptional, and the British Empire portrayed as relatively benign. This popular memory is highly distorted. [...] historians have increasingly demonstrated, violence, or the threat of violence, always underlined British colonial rule." |
|
Spring, 1906: It saddens Mother Russia to watch the venomous choke-hold of British Colonialism seep over our glorious earth. Only fist and steel can save us. Only Communism can deliver the machines of war required to crush this sinister, boy-state, and its subversive, fascist lies of democracy. We see how democracy works. Look at France. Look at Spain. |

Spring, 1907: 1906 Battleship Dreadnought Launched (2/10/06)The British launched the battleship Dreadnought on February 10th. It was the first of an entirely new class of warships -- one that was equipped with all-turbine engines giving the vessels previously unheard-of speed. In addition, the Dreadnought was an all "big-gun" ship since its guns were 12 inches. The launching of the Dreadnought was a first step in the naval armaments race with Germany. The race was actually one-sided, however, since the British started from a much larger fleet and continually out-built the Germans.
Spring, 1907: 1907 Mauritania Launched-The British launched the luxury liner the Mauritania. This began a new age in luxury liners that traversed the Atlantic.

Spring, 1909: Oh I'm sorry, I was busy conquering the well-known English county of Norway.
Spring, 1909: England: Obsessed with Norway since 1905. I knew it would wind you up and serve as distraction for a few turns, but I never expected you to throw the game away over it!
Autumn, 1910: Voting to pause this game until I'm back on Tuesday. Unless of course Scott wants to win by default, the most shameful victory.
Autumn, 1910: I wonder.. what would *you* do? ;-)
