Autumn, 1903: sowing seeds of discord even in death
Autumn, 1903: I have to admit, I'm indeed somewhat scared of Turkey. He's gotten a bit bigger than I'd expected.
Autumn, 1903: that's alright :)
Autumn, 1903: if someone sees italy they should remind him to make orders
Spring, 1904: Anyone up for coding a better version of web Diplomacy that allows more live interaction. Maybe in a simple framework like EmberJS?
Spring, 1904: http://realpolitik.sourceforge.net/
Autumn, 1904: What kind of live interaction do you want? In the ui?
Autumn, 1904: Yeah, you have to refresh too often. I am not really asking for explicit clicking/fancy UI, but really just fluent life chat and map updates. Maybe even automatic resolution of constraints, so you can't give conflicting orders..
Autumn, 1904: Also, I don't want to download a program for it :).
Autumn, 1904: s/life/live/
Autumn, 1904: Maybe a bit of AJAX here and there can just be enough.
Autumn, 1904: This project seems open source. So maybe, if people are up to it we can modify it a bit in the afternoon.
Autumn, 1904: If people are really up to it, we can rewrite it in Coq (slightly sarcastic).
Autumn, 1905: Austria, Turkey: It is your turn now.
Autumn, 1905: I am voting for Pause since I am presenting tonight and don't want to be distracted.
Autumn, 1905: We can resume again tomorrow, when I finish my talk.
Autumn, 1905: I'll go ahead and not press "ready" on my orders then. You don't have any to submit this phase, so it'll de-facto pause the game until I press ready. I'll just wait for it to time out if I don't hear an "all clear" from you.
Autumn, 1905: Okay, so I ran the simulations. I need to build an army at Marseille. This means that I previously miscalculated - I didn't need to take Norway after all :/ I had thought we needed a fleet in the South in order to block Turkish expansion. We do. But it is too late - by the time the fleet could join the fight, we might be overrun. And that's not a risk we can take. The south will stalemate while we wait for the north sea fleet to arrive. |
|
Autumn, 1905: Hopefully turkey will betray Austria first.
Spring, 1906: Ah. That wasn't supposed to be global chat. Pesky interface. Well, it was'nt really tactically relevant anyway. |
|
Autumn, 1907: WTH? Austria leaves Munich with too little support, and yet England and France don’t manage to coordinate to take it?
Autumn, 1907: It was a ... regrettable tactical error. We've already discussed it.
Autumn, 1907: okay, guessing game round two. We won't accidentally screw up our logistics this time. Time to flip a coin, everyone.
Spring, 1908: Ok, I think you are just making fun of Austria in Munich.
Spring, 1908: And Austria could have taken Piemond, with nowhere to retreat to
Spring, 1908: On a build turn? When he knows I have too many armies and too few fleets? I don't think so.
Spring, 1908: Hi guys, sorry for the delay. I had just experienced some heavy jetlag on the way back. I will vote for unpause now :).
Spring, 1908: anyone knows what happened to Turkey?
Spring, 1908: Indeed, he seemed to be amongst the keenest to continue the game. I'm afraid I don't have any means of contacting him beyond this web interface though.
Spring, 1908: seriously though, does anyone have means of contacting Turkey? Austria, you seem to be in regular contact with him - do you have his email, or maybe facebook?
Spring, 1908: France, his mail is on the participants list.
Spring, 1908: I can write him a mail.
Spring, 1908: hi guys, sorry for the delay
Spring, 1908: we were still travelling after oplss and i returned only the day before yesterday and i was quite busy after arriving
Spring, 1908: I'm okay with resuming the game
Spring, 1908: OK :). | |
Turkey, Austria: You have given up?
Guys?... | |
You could have voted draw and saved us the time...
sorry, missed my turn :(
i guess I'm out... | |
Now just convince Austria and we are done :D
or I guess we are done anyway, after this turn.
I believe you have to make a move if you don't want to lose Turkey.
The game has drawn with Turkey, France and England standing back.
It was a pleasure playing with you guys :).
i forgot all about this!
fun game, good playing with you all
you too. Maybe we can do this again some time. |
