07 Jun 13 UTC Spring, 1901: I have read your messages, I will respond when I get home from my computer. Thus cell phone sucks lol.
17 Jun 13 UTC Spring, 1904: French forces seized Münich earlier this week, continuing their indelible advance into Germany after a suprise offensive across the Rhine this spring. Shortly before winter forced the closing of the passes, German forces were taken by suprise as Italy's elite Alpine Division had launched sporadic feints across the Alps, compelling the Germans to divert additional and badly needed forces away from the Rhine frontier.

Meanwhile, Austria and Italy both continue to mass forces opposite each other on the Isonzo front - Italian battleships cruising up and down the Dalmatian coast face the Austrian coastal batteries as the inevitable offensive looms closer. The batteries are all that remains of Austria's defence at sea, following the titanic Battle of the Dardenelles as the combined naval and land operations of several Turkish armies and battle fleets surrounded and destroyed the Imperial Austrian Navy where Zeus seduced Europa. The Habsburg leadership remain indominable however, ever confident of the "Endsieg".

Asked for comment on the actions over the winter, the Kremlin remains silent.
17 Jun 13 UTC Spring, 1904: Wow! Beautiful piece! I enjoy a fine piece of roleplay and writing. So far I've been able to enjoy Italys moves on the map too... Howsoever that will evolve I commend this piece of creativity...
and a monument of Gordon the Great portraying him with his sword and lyre has been erected in the liberated Constantinople, purged of the Austrian invaders, with the people dancing around it in spontaneous celebration. To dress as an Italian is the fashion this spring in Turkey.
How the Sultan feels about seeing his people worshipping a foreign leader just as much or even more than himself is shrouded in Sylence.
19 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm just gonna CD now. :] You guys have fun.
23 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 1905: Two NMR's? Ouch,
24 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 1905: OR I guess I could just hold everything but never ready my units... Trolololol
24 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 1905: I'm reeeeeeally sorry guys. real life is a bitch. I rarely nmr and twice in one game is unheard of so im really sorry that it happened.
24 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 1905: at least you stabbed me first, right?
24 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 1905: You get what you give, you stabbed me, then got stabbed by trance, who was stabbed by Italy... It is the webdip circle of life.
26 Jun 13 UTC Spring, 1906: This just in!

Early today, the French ambassador in Rome was summoned to the royal palace and informed by His Majesty that, to his great regret, a state of war now exists between the Kingdom of Italy and the Third Republic.

Speculation as to the actual state of relations between the two great powers failed to anticipate this sudden and dramatic turn of events. Only a year ago, the Third Republic tittered on the brink of collapse and social disorder – in response, Italian forces had begun a large-scale mobilization along the common frontiers and the demilitarized zones. Following the restoration of order, French demands that Italy evacuate the DMZ unconditionally were met with scepticism after rumors of a secret Franco-Russian pact had been signed, which could have cleared the way for a an all-out French push into the heart of the Italian empire. Sources at the French Foreign Ministry have explained the Italians met the French with a counter-offer for the reorganization of the two great powers’ spheres of influence that was scoffed for its unrealistic central proposal. Negotiations continued throughout the winter in secret but, in statement by the Ministry of Defence last week, France’s accelerated construction of a new class of capital ships has convinced the Italian General Staff that France’s intentions in the Mediterranean are all but peaceful. A final warning was issued yesterday that received no response. Accordingly, Italy announced her declaration at war at dawn this Tuesday morning, the 26th of June, 1906.
26 Jun 13 UTC Spring, 1906: Beautiful peace. I might need a draw for a day or so. Can everyone please grant me one? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.
27 Jun 13 UTC Let's all vote unpause now so France can just unpause when he is back. Thanks!
27 Jun 13 UTC He may be a few months... This is Draugnar filling in for JG as TD of the leagues. I don't know if he wants me to sit this game for him or not, but he indicated he was potentially gone for the summer, at least a couple of months.
29 Jun 13 UTC Hrm, that doesn't exactly jive with him asking for a draw for a day or so. I would almost prefer a forced draw to a pause for a few months.
09 Jul 13 UTC Could we continue the game?
10 Jul 13 UTC I think we might need a mod to assist us...
16 Jul 13 UTC mmm... this might become like a domino effect.
Now me in my turn I might be gone a while end from the end of July some time into August where I'm not sure if I'll be connected.
I think this was an interesting round of respectable players so it'd be a pity if we could not resume it, though we might be waiting 'til September...
13 Aug 13 UTC I'm available now anyway...
13 Aug 13 UTC Welcome back Turkey.
24 Aug 13 UTC Thanks... Alas... I go on pause again... Only a few days... See you guys...[?]
25 Aug 13 UTC This is the weirdest game ever.
25 Aug 13 UTC Im finally willing to unpause if theres interest. I will put my flag out.
25 Aug 13 UTC I would like to finish this game.
25 Aug 13 UTC Ok, Italy, Turkey?
27 Aug 13 UTC Right. I'm back.
29 Aug 13 UTC Just so you guys know, this is probably going to be my last game on webDiplomacy. I will finish because it is the sportsmanlike thing to do but i would rather draw or cancel if any of you would prefer to do that. If not, I will play it out to the end and I will play my heart out ;)
29 Aug 13 UTC Aw... that is actually moving.
I hope you have a lot of Real Life to do and will not let Dip interfere with your presence and your sleep. Or "play your heart out" in a final game... (It's like quitting smoking or any drug. How often does this succeed?)
Good luck jgur howsoever.
Well, for us dippers left.... I liked this particular round... interesting... but it is now a bit like heating up an old sauce and maybe it has lost its flavour.
I would also like to complete it, but I have in the meantime played and am playing another game and don't like to have several running so for me a still better alternative is to draw this, so in effect my message is the same as France's.
A draw will suit me, but if there is insistence on going on I am fully participating.
29 Aug 13 UTC 3 flags out for me. Thanks turkey ;)
30 Aug 13 UTC Ok I join that, letting Marek or Gordon decide.
As said - if anyone of them is positive about resuming I'm fully with that too.

I wonder how you'd look upon canceling this round and consider the seven of us invited to restart a new round (I think it should then be anonymous) and let what vacant slots there'll be, be filled with new players.
I don't know it is a relevant idea. I'd hearken to what players more veteran on the site think of it.
30 Aug 13 UTC Oh m'dear... jgurstein... I think you have a new motto on your profile... brings lyrics lines to my mind... Dance away the heartache... dance away the tears...
Here we are playing our hearts out at Diplomacy
30 Aug 13 UTC While at that... I take the opportunity to send a token of sympathy to Laker for his motto.
"Nothing cruel is useful or expedient". A motto worthy of a dip-player I think. It might look evident but is really worth to have in memory.
Even if we fight unrelentingly for victory, cruelty is of no use, has no part in the relish.

Well, I'm a vegetarian as I might assume you are, Laker... Don't let that soften you to refrain from being "cruel" to me in the game.
30 Aug 13 UTC Like I can even reach you thus far, Turkey!
15 Sep 13 UTC Gordon has not been seen for 51 days. anyone in favor of getting a mod to force a resoltuition to the game? (like i said before, im fine with any resolution).
15 Sep 13 UTC Yes. Let's please get this finished. Thanks!
15 Sep 13 UTC Yes, only that without Italy "unpause" is not an option, since balance would be wrecked.
"Turkey" would be happy about such a scrumptious opportunity, but Sylence frowns upon it.
15 Sep 13 UTC The game is still playable even without Italy, I think.
15 Sep 13 UTC I think turkey would win if we did that. You could also say that i would stand to benefit from his leaving but when he played me and germany had a common enemy. now theres no one to worry about but eachother. Germany and i would stalemate pretty fast which leaves russia and turkey. Not only is turkey mobilized better to fight, but he can guarentee himself builds by sc hopping, undisturbed in italy.
15 Sep 13 UTC I think the best thing to do is draw but if you guys want to unpause, then thats fine with me. But can someone please email the mods cause im reeeeally lazy lol
15 Sep 13 UTC Might as well draw, simpler, easier.
15 Sep 13 UTC A draw is definitely an option, but Italy should not be included in it.
16 Sep 13 UTC So someone contact a mod
21 Sep 13 UTC I sent an email about it tonight.
21 Sep 13 UTC Russia, want to vote draw then?
21 Sep 13 UTC (jmo1121109): Hello everyone,

I forced Italy into CD. You may now all vote to unpause after finding a replacement, or you could simply draw the game.

-WebDip Admin
22 Sep 13 UTC Russia your choice of draw or cancel. What will it be?
22 Sep 13 UTC GG all.
22 Sep 13 UTC Good game and nice playing with you all. Goodbye webdip :)
