Shortest game I ever played. I'd say 5 minutes is a short period compared to the norm. We all can't play as much as you oh master diplomat... XD
I like to think of it as experimenting. Sometimes I just don't play well. It happens to everyone.
Repeating the S 04 move to triste was just rediculously shortsighted.
Hm ok you never play live games?
Then i apologize. I more or less only do lives.
You know, you seem really bent out of shape about my moves... why do you care?
Ya, this was only my second one but it's understandable to think my moves were terrible... mostly because they were.
Ah, because i wanted to cancel the game from the get go when austria dropped.
And then i had to fight of both you and turkey which made for a pretty bad situation.
Well at least you got something out of this. Could have been worse.
But Turkey stabbed me in the back so you would have been fine. Even I can tell you had the superior positionon the board.
Then, with the CD of England and the french NMR i only wanted out of the game. Should have taken down the draw until france had dropped.
No, Germany had the superior position. I could have held turkey in his corner forever and maybe even gained one or two centers.
But i could not have gotten enough units turned around to stop germany.
Fair enough, but I have to give props to Germany. I was playing horribly, but even on my A game I would have been hard pressed to defend against those sneaky convoys. I'll have to try that manuver some time.
I am just checking out your older games and you really don't play that bad usually. Don't you like russia or what was up?
The german opening was madness and had the french player not been stupid germany would have been gutted in 02. No props there.
But I meant superior to myself and Turkey. Germany was a different story all together.
Ya, but the fact that it worked was what impressed me.
I know a lot of it is luck, but it is always nice to mix it up a little.
Yes ok, i had you and turkey contained because both of you refused to play together.
Also, Russia is my weakest country when I can't message b/c everyone is pretty much against me from the start and I have to make poor moves as attempts to gain trust. Such as with the Sev - Rumania move.
And for the point that i got something out of it... i don't play for points any more. I play for GR and a five way draw with people lile T-EX in it is just... horrible. :D
I was hoping for Turkey or France. I do well in the corners.
Ha ha, I get that. I am trying to play higher so I can get more points to join major games, but that wil take a while.
Sev - Rum is a very, very bad move with russia in a gunboat if you don't follow up with a fleet build in Sev. As soon as you loose control of the black sea you basically invite turkey to walk all over you. I even wondered why he did not do it ealier.
Not many high point games I feel good about yet. I am decent, but definantly not ready to go up against real high level players.
I just finished a 10K points gunboat and am involved in a 15K points one. I guess in about a week or so my point count will be above 10 or 11K.
I made it work before, but I was relying on Turkey to side with me as he really has no one else. Granted it was a poor decision, but I didn't have a lot of time to think it over.
My gunboat GR is 9 at the moment.
Impressive. Ya I have to play more before I try going for big point games like that. Ha ha, 500 point games still make me nervous which is basically nothing to you.
In gunboat, especially in live gunboat there are some sets of moves that work and convey certain messages to other players. A fleet in RUM usually tells the turkish player that you want trouble or are easy meat.
Good point, and I really do know quite a few "conversation" moves like that, but my biggest worry is whether or not the other player gets the message right. Just look at who was in this game. Really no one played well here or had much of any idea on how to really work their country to their advantage aside from you. Everyone else just got lucky.
France got into Northern England within 03. Germany tried a blind rush at Russia and France failed ot take advantage of it, or the fact that he held the channel. Turkey didn't work the corner or his fleet advantage early on. And my moves of course we just a complete failure in more ways than one. Austria never really stood a fair chance so I can't judge his moves.
That is the nice thing about high stake games. Competent players. :)
Nice, now I definantly need some more points so I can get into those. ;)
Austrias opening was one of the worst possible ones he could choose from.
I think I'll start out with some more hundred + point games to give myself a boost. Maybe I'll see you around whenever I manage to get up to the major games.

True, the fleet to Adr was pretty bad...
wow....hope you're not Germany in that game.
Check that one out. 7 of the 10 top gunboat players here.
Haha no. | |
Very impressive, how do you know they are in the top 10?

That is the ghost ranking list made by Alderian. A better ranking system then points since it includes a lot more factors.
I gotta go now, my wife just got home. She is drunk and wants attention. :D
Ha ha, see you later. Nice playing with you. Hopefully we'll see each other again. :)
We sure enough will when you play live gunboats. See you around. |
