09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:I am such a noob and mistook the the South Coast of Arabia for Red Sea. As a punishment, I am leaving this game and will issue no more movement in this game. I will hold my units in place to protect my ally Near-East as my last act of honor.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Brazil]:that's kind of bad. that'll change the game and make it unbalanced
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:I disagree. It changes the game yes, but not unbalanced. In fact it's rebalanced. In my opinion, Near-East you have their home SC in Iran instead of Arab-Saudi. I am going to make a suggestion to the host.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [China]:What!?!?
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [China]:What!?!?
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [China]:Lybia, learn how to play and stop making crazy suggestions.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:You need to learn how to spell "Libya" first. So, why the Libya and Near-East are the only two countries with home SC-touching each other?
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [China]:Ass!!
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Near-East]:I must admit that I have not been playing on this site for very long, and so do not know what the standard way for dealing with a player that wishes to surrender. When Libya had announced his intentions of surrendering his land to me, I suggested that holding his units was a more fair solution, although it still very much changes the game. Again, it would be greatly appreciated if somebody who has previously played in a game where a player surrendered gave their insight on how to proceed from here.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [China]:Pal, no problem with your approach. The issue is when some rokie has great "ideas" on hiw to improve the game. My suggestion: read the instructions. I invite everybody to cancel.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:Yeah, Near-East is an honorable man.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:Hey, that's even better, let's cancel the game. LoL.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:There, I voted to cancel. I apologize all. Please all cancel this game.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Near-East]:I am more than willing to cancel the game if that is what is usually done. My question is, what is the joinable games section used for? I had always assumed it was for someone to fill in for players that had left (like if Libya wanted to leave).
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Brazil]:why would we cancel..
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:I think they must not even allowed joinable games. In another game, I saw one big country attacking an unopposed, undefended country. Then suddenly he stopped attacking, a new player joined. the big country has 13 SCs and the small country has 4 SCs. I confronted the other big country, he could not explained.
09 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Libya]:I think the big country bat-phone his friend to join in to help out.
10 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Near-East]:I would love to hear other countries give their opinions on what we should do with this game. I am still perfectly willing to cancel if that's what's agreed upon, but I want to know if other countries would rather play out even with a surrendered player or quit now with the game still young.
10 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [South-Africa]:Usually when someone quits they don't make such a big deal out of it. Other people can take over for a country who's original player left the game.
10 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [Near-East]:Thanks for clarifying! I was browsing some of the finished world games, and it looks like there are a fair number of times where somebody doesn't make moves and the game continues. Sorry for making a big deal of it...
10 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [South-Africa]:Yeah, I guess it could make sense. People leave all the time, just usually not so soon in the game.
10 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2000: [India]:People leaving is obviously annoying, but it happens for a whole host of reasons. Let's just play on. And if anyone near Libya ends up winning we'll know it's because they had an unfair advantage from the outset ;-)
11 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:Ok, look, I don't want to unbalance anything. But I want my 10 points back for this weekend. I have zero point now and will get 10 back after I leave this game right? So, I will issue one last order to take ETH, as Kenya promised me for being an ally. After that, I leave the game for good. If Kenya wants that land, Kenya has to fight for it after I leave the game. If he bounced me, I still leave the game, but then everyone will know who is the first back-stabber.
11 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:I try to be courteous to everyone and will make one last effort to reduce any unbalance issue.
11 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:LoL at China. It is getting crushed by India and Russia Pacific, no wonder he was pissy at me for leaving the game.
11 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Kenya]:D: Excuse me, I am not a horrible person because I march onto countries that aren't in the game anymore.
12 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:It's up to you. According to the term of the treaty before us, Libya is supposed to have ETH. I should have not leave the game until that treaty was complete, or else you had such an easy time with South America.
12 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:But I will leave you to the world Judgement... If you want to take ETH, then fight for it, not just move in empty. That's not cool.
12 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:While I am leaving this game, but I will show my utmost effort to address any perceived unbalance to the rest of the players who stayed. It's my ethical standard.
12 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:This is my last message in this game, I have no further concern here. Done all I could.
12 Apr 13 UTC Spring, 2001: [Libya]:Please note that I have unpaused the game for you guys. Good by cruel-world. LoL.
15 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2001: [Frozen-Antarctica]:NA alliance ! Be carefull all ! :P
15 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2001: [Brazil]:oh jeez
19 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2002: GameMaster: Sydrush was banned: multi. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
20 Apr 13 UTC Autumn, 2002: [Libya]:Damn, the cheater got Ghana to advantage. I shall attack Ghana.
14 May 13 UTC Autumn, 2009: [Ghana]:Alright little multis/friends, none of you are breaking into Africa so I suspect you either start attacking one another or draw the game.
10 Jun 13 UTC Spring, 2017: [Ghana]:Did western Canada really just leave?? Now all his supply centers are open.
10 Jun 13 UTC Spring, 2017: [Ghana]:Pacific-Russia would you un-mute me please so we can have some neutrality along our sea borders. I'm just going after Russia.
15 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 2017: [Pacific-Russia]:New leadership here in PacRussia. Looking for a three-way draw.
25 Jun 13 UTC Autumn, 2021: [Pacific-Russia]:I like the quick pace of this game. Let's keep it moving along. Or Ghana could just vote draw and end it all right now.
