10 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1901: GameMaster: savasta was banned: duplicate. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player. Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily! |
25 Jan 13 UTC | Spring, 1906: I couldn't let Russia get away with a win this easily :) Come on fellas, lets make him work for it |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: This is not making him work for it.....this is handing him a solo on a golden platter. What are you guys thinking? |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: Italy, Turkey - you're pathetic. |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: Thanks, man. Sorry I respected Russia for helping me with Austria when I was in need. |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: But yeah, you're right. I'm obviously a pathetic person because I didn't help you in an online video game. |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: Who cares? You obviously don't get the point of this game if you think you have to return favors. What you did is akin to playing Monopoly and then just selling all your properties to another player for $1. Yeah, its technically legal, but its still a poor move to make, because even though its a game you're not supposed to let someone else win. |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: And moreso you were pathetic because you didn't have the decency to respond to me. |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: Temper, Germany. We all learn, every game. "Pathetic"? You never got sucker-punched by an ally? |
30 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: I could care less about dying. That happens all the time. When people allow solos though, I get pissed |
31 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: Too bad there's no "Like" button like Facebook. Lol. |
31 Jan 13 UTC | Autumn, 1907: You have a "WTA" mindset, where everyone strives to stop solo wins at all cost. Here in "PPSC" Land, the financial rewards of ending up with 8 or 9 (which is where Turkey was headed) are equal to sharing a draw with four countries, which is what you were proposing. For someone with 15 dollars to their name, teaming up with a larger power - rather than fighting them - in order to make a likely nice profit on their $10 investment - it's not such a bad idea, and if you can make just as much as being part of a draw.... |
31 Jan 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: Well that's assuming people care about the amount of points they have...but you're right, I have a WTA mindset. |
31 Jan 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: To me, personally, points don't matter. Your win/draw record is all that matters, and survives are the worst possible results. |
31 Jan 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: What about defeats? What about you just starting and not playing against solid players? Your record you should worry about later. Now you need points in order to get better games. Perhaps in a year of playing then it will matter. Now, i just want to play against veterans |
31 Jan 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: And I'm not hardcore enough into this to care about who I play so long as they don't leave after a game has started. |
31 Jan 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: There are three measures of skill. Points (dollars), wins+draws versus survives+defeats, and Ghost Rating. I think we more experienced players tend to forget how important 20 or 30 points can be at the beginning. |
01 Feb 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: Meh, I suppose I understand if you're just starting off. But frequently, good players don't play in high pot games. Some do, but a lot just play 5 point bet games. The real thing they're after is GR. If you want to gain esteem on this site (which, Italy by your comment you seem to want) then you do so my increasing your GR and playing in GR games or tournaments. |
01 Feb 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: Damn, I thought I was being clever but using Berlin to move to Munich. |
01 Feb 13 UTC | Spring, 1908: And thank you for rewarding Turkey with a 1 SC survive, Russia :) |
