Spring, 1901: Morning all, here's to a peaceful and dull game.
Spring, 1901: (I'll apologise in advance for any rookie mistakes, I feel I'm about to make one)...I will however declare my hand early, bow to the mono ideological power of the Austrian Forces...we may be a small backward nation but we have big ambition to convert northern Europe into our righteous ways...Hell hath no wrath akin to an Austrian scorned
Spring, 1901: Has there been any sign of Germany, does he know the game has begun?
Spring, 1901: Has there been any sign of Germany, does he know the game has begun?
Spring, 1901: Is this a good time for everyone to turn on the Kaiser?
Spring, 1901: I've PMed him elsewhere, so he should know we're rolling.
Spring, 1901: No doubt he is in an underground bunker gathering intel.
Spring, 1901: Has there been any sign of Germany, does he know the game has begun?
Spring, 1901: No sign from me, I believe his ambassador has claimed diplomatic asylum in the dark depths of some foreign lands.
Spring, 1901: Sorry, real life shit... on it...
Autumn, 1901: Sorry about the repeated messages, that was my phone rather than me.
Autumn, 1901: Can anyone give England a prod?
Autumn, 1901: I have done.
Autumn, 1901: Sorry..!
Spring, 1902: SomersetGestalt has said (in another place) that he is indisposed till Sunday at the latest, and sends his apologies. This will be another long negotiation phase.
Spring, 1902: And can someone suggest that England enters some orders?
Autumn, 1902: Oh balls, someone has just read the long-form rule book and realised how build orders work in reality - ho-hum...
Autumn, 1902: Hold on to your hats...
Autumn, 1902: Damnit, missed it by a few seconds.
Autumn, 1904: Goodbye cruel world...
Spring, 1905: Farewell Austria - the world isn't cruel, just those who run it.
Spring, 1905: Auf Wiedersehen, Germany.
Spring, 1905: Literally driven into the sea. Au revoir et Bon nuit.
Autumn, 1905: Betrayed, betrayed.... Ok, betrayed by my own failure to understand the rules, but at least I wasn't last!
Autumn, 1906: I'll vacate Tyrolia for Munich to occupy. If you could support Tyrolia into Vienna please.
Autumn, 1906: Bollocks. Pretend you didn't see that, eh?
Autumn, 1906: Trouble is, I am so paranoid about this game I half expect it to be a double or even triple bluff.
Autumn, 1906: You think Russia merely goes to the level of a triple bluff? Russia is a riddle, encased in a mystery, inside an enigma, wrapped around a large gold brick.
Autumn, 1906: ...ah not looked back for a while, nice to see turkey's uprising...not that I hold a grudge, scumrade. ;0) xxx
Spring, 1907: England have fallen into civil disorder. Farewell England.
Autumn, 1907: I tell a lie, England's back. Hello England.
Autumn, 1907: And gone again. Au revoir England, sorry for stabbing you in the back at the most inopportune moment.
Autumn, 1907: Not a problem, France! I predicted that you'd win a long while back and I'd rather be right than win. Best of luck..!
Autumn, 1907: Merci! | |
Spring, 1909: The centre of Europe is now little but a mass of red and yellow arrows with lines through them.
Spring, 1910: I hear the strains of La Marseillaise in the air...
Well done France, and well done Russia for holding out with your home supply centres under prolonged attack.
Well done France. And Turkey. I rather feel I deserved that after stabbing Austria. |
|
I did try to tell Austria to keep you out of Rumania and Galicia. But would he listen?
Don't feel bad for Austria, they broke an alliance to take Bulgaria from me with Russia's help in 1902. I swore I'd get my vengeance on both nations.
In retrospect, I shouldn't have been so hell bent on attempting to take out Russia in Scandinavia, had I concentrated on Warsaw then marched on central Europe, I may have done better (and been better able to help Italy against France) but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
It's amazing how little decisions echo all the way through to the end game. Great fun, I hope everyone enjoys living under the semi-benign French dictatorship.
I'm going to sulk over my spaghetti. |
